Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Clinky Apps ("we", "us") collects, uses and shares information when a merchant installs and uses our Shopify apps, including Clinky Bundles (the "App"), and when shoppers visit a store that uses the App.
1. Information we collect
From merchants (store owners)
- Store information provided by Shopify when the App is installed: the store's myshopify domain, store name, store owner email, store creation date, plan type and an access token that lets the App work with the store.
- App configuration you create: bundle deals, discount settings, design settings, texts and translations, A/B test settings.
- Product data read from your store (titles, images, prices, variants, collections, cost per item) to display deals and calculate prices and profit.
- Order data read from your store to show analytics (revenue, orders, products, shipping country). We store only the cost per item of ordered products at the time of the order; other order details are read live from Shopify and are not stored by us.
- Feedback and support messages you choose to send us (for example a rating, a feature request, or an email address you enter).
From shoppers (visitors of a store using the App)
- Anonymous usage events: when a deal is viewed, added to cart or a checkout is started, we record the event with a random session identifier, the deal ID and a timestamp. These events do not include names, email addresses, IP addresses, payment or address details.
- We do not store shoppers' personal information. Personal information in orders stays in Shopify.
Cookies and browser storage
On the storefront, the App keeps one random identifier (bundle_app_sid) in the shopper's browser storage so that views of a deal are counted once per visit, and it remembers which A/B test variant was shown. These values contain no personal information. The App does not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can clear browser storage at any time in your browser settings (see allaboutcookies.org).
Our server keeps short technical logs (for example error messages) to keep the App running; they are deleted automatically after a few weeks.
2. How we use information
- To provide the App: show deals on the storefront, apply discounts at checkout, and publish your settings to your store.
- To show analytics and A/B test results in the App.
- To bill for the App through Shopify's billing system (we never see payment card details).
- To provide support and improve the App.
We do not sell personal information and do not use it for advertising.
3. Sharing
We share information only with service providers that help us run the App:
- Shopify – platform, billing and checkout.
- DigitalOcean (United States) – server hosting and backups.
- Cloudflare – domain name and email routing.
- Google (Gmail) – support email.
- Machine translation providers (DeepL or MyMemory) – only the deal texts you ask the App to translate.
- Intercom – in-app support chat, if enabled (store name, owner email and store domain).
We may also disclose information if required by law.
4. Data retention and deletion
We keep your data while the App is installed. When you uninstall the App, Shopify notifies us and we delete your store's deals, settings, analytics events and stored order cost data within 48 hours of that notification (Shopify's shop/redact request). Server backups are kept for up to 28 days and then overwritten. We respond to Shopify's customers/data_request and customers/redact requests; because we do not store shoppers' personal information, there is usually nothing to return or delete.
5. Security
Data is transferred over HTTPS, the server is protected by a firewall and key-based access, and access tokens are stored only on our server.
6. International transfers
Our servers are located in the United States. If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, your information is transferred to the United States with appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses used by our providers).
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict its processing. Merchants can delete all App data at any time by uninstalling the App. To make a request, email support@clinkyapps.com. Shoppers should contact the store they purchased from; we will help the store respond.
8. Children
The App is intended for businesses and is not directed to children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows when it last changed.
